What I've learned this week

In the last week since we've been home from vacation, I've learned:

1) black widows are really as shiny, big, and black as their pictures, they make ugly (irregular) webs, and can only be killed by direct contact (no effective pesticide pre-spraying) --- flip-flops work well.

2) it is a waste of money to have stitches put in Nathan's head- he just picks the wound open as soon as they've dissolved.

3) the "working" toilet will leak through the ceiling as soon as you think you've got all the plumbing work done.

4) a little boy will eventually learn to ride and enjoy his bicycle, even if it takes until after he's seven.

5) I am a messy painter, either that or I've got some sort of dreaded spotty disease.

6) The air conditioner works great!

7) Primary is much nicer after a three-week break.

Oh what a ride you guys have had...I can empathize with nearly all of it, especially the spiders. We had a black widow epidemic at our last place...over 15 to kill in one summer. Nasty! May all of your toilets continue to flush without complications :)

Yeah, we've (meaning Dewain) killed 4 in the last week or two. So, last night, Dewain went on a hunt and killed another 8 and saw 2 that got away (one in the garage). Makes me feel them all over me, all the time. We need to replace the floor seal on two more toilets now, since it appears (from the ceiling) that when the previous people laid the tile they moved the toilets then put them back without replacing the wax rings. Grrrr.

HA! Oh, the things we learn that we wish we never had to learn. The toilet in our bathroom in Bountiful was tiled into place. Good luck to he who takes on the job of fixing it.

It appears that Dewain successfully fixed the toilet. He also killed another 5 widows and about a dozen widowers (quite literally after the previous night's spree).
