Originally, we thought we were going to spend Christmas with Grandma & Grandpa G and Great-Grandma P at our home. Things change. Instead, we ended up leaving our presents under the tree and heading to Utah. Joshua, for one, was very excited. He got to exchange the gloomy blah of central California for the brilliant whites of northern Utah. We had barely begun our ascent into the Sierras and he was already asking if he could get out and play in the snow. While he still had many hours to wait, he did get to live his dream. We spent as much of our week out of doors as two boys could handle (the other little boy had a much lower saturation point). Hooray for snow!

How fun!!! I still remember when I went sledding at your parents house...whattablast :)
It sucks that your original plans were dashed, but we were sure happy to see you. Hope Carla is doing better... keep us posted.

Being FROM the Bay Area, I shudder at the phrasing. Just a lesson in perspective. How I miss that CA...
Sounds like you had a great time.
Admittedly it's a warm, gloomy blah and occasionally brilliant blue skies and balmy temps. I had hoped that when we left Illinois the gray skies would stay behind us. Unfortunately, no. Whether it's fog or smog depends on the day. Since we only had to deal with cold for a week, it was really a great exchange. Plus, we didn't have to "go to the snow," we got a two for one with family and fun.
