Eureka- we found it!

We were able to purchase a home, finally closing this week. We made our first offer on it at the beginning of February, so it's taken awhile. It was a foreclosure, but is in pretty good shape considering all the other stuff we saw. Still, we have A LOT of projects ahead of us. Dewain is scraping popcorn ceiling as I type. I weed-whacked half the backyard before Nathan needed a nap, but now the swingset it usable. It can entertain Joshua for hours while I work inside. If you want to check out the before pictures follow this link to a slideshow.

The house is two story, has 5 bedrooms (all upstairs), 2.5 bathrooms, as well as the kitchen, dining room, etc. The backyard is not too deep, but very wide. We are excited to have room for a garden and to put in a few fruit trees. It needs quite a bit of work before we can plant anything, since the grass is dried up and the dirt was compacted by the previous owner's dog(s).

We have about 3 weeks to be completely out of our current place and have it cleaned and shampooed and keys turned in. Wish us luck. We've done quite a bit of packing (thanks Mom), but the work never ends!

p.s.- our house is on Eureka Way

Congratulations on the new home. You'll have a good time fixing it up. It was nice to hear someone else had suffered through cornea ulcers before.

I"m a little slow in finding out this news but CONGRATS anyway! How exciting! Where most of those walls pink that I saw in the pics? :) Lovely! I can't wait to see the after pictures! Good luck with getting settled in!

Yes, the walls throughout the downstairs and in the upstairs hall were pinky purple. Unfortunately, they still are. But, the popcorn ceilings are down and someday (in the not too distant future) the walls will be a nice "toasted wheat."
